Dennis Baker of Maidenhead had eight birds drop together to take first, second, fourth, sixth, ninth, tenth, eleventh and thirteenth open, first, second, fourth to eighth and tenth section D. Flying a distance of 161 miles, first on the clock for Dennis was a two year old on 1627ypm. The race winner is Wakefield, a De Rauw Sablon hen also containing Roger Lowe's My Little Diamond bloodlines. Second on the clock was a three year old cock, a grandson of both Main Man, 2nd and 3rd open Saintes (NFC) and Southfield Champ, 1st open NFC Saintes.
Splitting the first three Baker birds was a two year old in third open, third section D on 1618ypm over 153 miles for Roger Lowe of Reading. Roger timed Double Delight, the same hen that topped the section with the Classic the week before. Raced on the roundabout system, Double Delight is half My Little Diamond bloodlines and half Harry.
Mr and Mrs Mark Gower also had a few pigeons drop together, clocking the first three to take fifth, seventh and eighth open and the first three positions in section B. First on the clock was a two year old on 1602.25ypm. The next two both clocked on the same velocity of 1601ypm. Mark and Julie's first to time was a grizzle hen bred from a pair of pigeons from P and D Stud, the sire being a son of Pitbull and the dam a daughter of Neiuew Goede Roede. Second on the clock was a five year old, Vandenabeele hen purchased from Mark Evans. Third was another pigeon from P and D Stud.
Around the sections
Twelfth open was won by Baron Brothers of Redbourn with a two year old on 1597ypm. The partners clocked a blue hen bred from their Geerinckx family of pigeons and flown on the roundabout system.
Mr and Mrs Carrick of Chesham were fourteenth open with a two year old on 1593ypm. The sire of Mick and Tracy's pigeons was their 2009 Bordeaux winner, Georgie Boy, who is fifteen years old now but still fills the odd egg. The dam was bred by Jimmy Whitehead and contains Syndicate Lofts bloodlines.
Mark Gilbert of Windsor timed a two year old on 1575ypm to take fifteenth open. Mark timed a chequer pied hen bred from a grandson of Jan Hooymans Harry x 139.
The Kenny Family of Wantage were sixteenth and seventeenth open with two yearlings, both on 1568ypm. First to time was a blue hen bred by Brian Mordesley from Southport. Next on the clock was a blue chequer hen bred by Chris and Jane Howse.
John Attrill of Salisbury timed a yearling on 1568ypm to take first section A. Johnny timed New Nightmare, the BICC section winner two weeks previously. This blue cock contains Kees Boshua bloodlines and is the spitting image of its grandsire.
M Shipp of Bedhampton timed a four year old on 1518ypm to take second section A. Buddy's blue hen contains Kees Boshua bloodlines and was broken in from his old address where she flew very well. This is its first race from its new home and it was sent sitting seven days.
Robbie Hooper of Poole was next to time in section B with a yearling on 1537ypm. Robbie timed a pigeon bred from his best breeding hen, the same one that was provisionally fourth section with the Classic the previous week.
The section C winner was Pete Barlow of Coombe Hill with a yearling on 1555ypm. Pete's yearling cock was flown on the celibate system and was bred from his tenth open Messac winner when paired to a hen containing Mark Gilbert's bloodlines.
Martin Williams of Hereford was second section C with a two year old on 1551ypm. Martin's pigeon was bred from his old family of birds and he had all six that he sent within an hour and a half.
J and B Oakley of Whitchurch was first section E with a yearling on 1511ypm. The section winner is bred from a son of GWP Macaloney's New Dream Pair when paired to their best breeding daughter of Skyfall.
Mr and Mrs Shaw of Crewe timed a three year old on 1507ypm to take second section E. Nigel and Wendy timed a Hereman Ceusters hen, the sire of which is a full brother to Tam Blair's National Olympiad. The dam is a sister of Tartan Bolt, bred for Tam by David Sara.
Derek Reid of Weybridge was the section G winner with a three year old on 1541ypm. Derek clocked a widowhood cock, the sire of which was bred from M and D Evans bloodlines. The dam was bred down from his 2005 NFC winner.
Kevin Foster of Longfield Hill timed a two year old on 1505ypm to take second section G. Kevin's winner was a widowhood hen, the sire of which was a grandson of Southfield Supreme, whilst the dam is a sister to Southfield Jane.
D Wilton and Son of Chadwell St Mary was first section J with a two year old on 1495ypm. The Wiltons clocked a widowhood cock, a grandson of Bordeaux Tom and their second BICC Barcelona hen of 2017.
Mark Bulled of Harlow was second section J with a three year old on 1428ypm. Mark timed a widowhood hen containing Red Bull x Harry bloodlines.
