The colony of Anthony Maes has been a synonym with exceptionally strong performances for some time now. Remarkable rankings, provincial and national victories, KBDB Ace Pigeon titles… all of these have been part of the daily routine for some time already. However, it seems that in 2021 they have reached an even higher level. Up to now (start of Juli), we count 18 victories +3 provincial laurels. When it comes to the zonal region, the superman of Waregem has already won gold.
2021 is going strong
When the middle-distance races started, naturally Anthony and his wife/caretaker Chantal were ready to strike. They started off strong and have not slowed down throughout the entire season 2021, weekly they perform feats others can only dream off. Friend and enemy alike have agreed by now that the pigeons of Anthony are of an exceptionally high level. Everything they try they seem to succeed at, and such a thing is only possible when there is true quality in the lofts.
Phenomenal results week after week :

It is not just the generations of 2018 and 2019 that are performing excellently. Anthony Maes’s yearlings in Waregem are also working on a fantastic season. Dua Lipa is approaching the ranks of her illustrious predecessors, which is not strange considering her extremely good pedigree : de Bliksem and Rudy van Vandenabeele in combination with the constantly returning name of wonderbird Papillon.
The future is looking bright
Anthony and Chantal have been working on an impressive season, not only his old birds and yearlings are doing well, but also the young birds have been performing excellently. We can expect more fireworks for the foreseeable future since for a craftsman such as Maes, winning and standing out every single time is the ultimate goal of the pigeon sport. That he has been doing that so well for so long is without a doubt because the bar is always being set higher and only the best is good enough to breed with. This, in combination with very harsh selection, makes it so that the colony Maes is at the apex of our sport.
