Reijnen-Bolton-De Hoogh (Baarle-Hertog, BE) win 1st National Issoudun (18,176 yearlings)

In the wake of an impressive national victory in the closing national race from Chateauroux last year (fastest of 20,000+ birds with Noe), the team adds another national victory to their palmares this year. Their latest national winner is Fast Issoudun, the fastest of 18,176 YLs.

This Dutch combination, consisting of Brian Bolton, Erik Reijnen and Gert-Jan de Hoogh, has traditionally been one of the leading lofts in the One Loft Race competition. Over the past three years, they claimed as many as five podium spots in different OLR ace pigeon competitions, which Erik thinks is the most honest form of pigeon racing. And their two lofts (Alphen in The Netherlands and Baarle Hertog in Belgium) have been quite successful as well. For instance, the loft in Baarle Hertog claimed a national victory in last year's closing national race from Châteauroux with Noe BE19-6065829. And the combination is having a strong 2020 season as well: racing bird Fast Issoudun took the national win in the yearlings' race last weekend. This hen was in fact the first overall of 18,176 yearlings.

Fast Issoudun - BE19-6065683 - 1st National Issoudun (18,176 yearlings)

This hen is a daughter of Brom 500, a renowned breeder and the sire of several racing birds that excelled in OLR races, including the 343/18, a 75th Ace Pigeon Overall OLR/136th Final Derby Carpaten 2018. He is a direct son of Den Brom (1st NPO Argenton of 8,338 pigeons of F. Van Huijgevoort) x Blue De Blois (1st prov. / 2nd NPO Blois of 5,620 pigeons).

The dam of Fast Issoudun is Young Rayke, a daughter of superstar Rayke 25 (Mrs. Snellen & Son - 1st prov. ace pigeon long distance and 2nd-7th-9th-11th-42nd-52nd-60th-94th-112th NPO!)

Fast Issoudun took the win but let's not forget the rest of the team either. The combination had basketed 45 yearlings for this race, and they did as follows:

The Reijnen-Bolton-De Hoogh combination continues to strive for quality. And their approach appears to pay off, having led to several very successful One Loft Races. And there is more: they already claimed two national victories in two years’s time in their Belgian loft in Baarle-Hertog, and they had some great results in their Dutch loft in Alphen in recent years as well, including a 1st and 2nd Morlincourt 2019 of 12,467 p. and 18 pigeons in the top 100 (province 2000). It goes to show that Erik, Brian and Gert-Jan are a force to be reckoned with in the longer middle distance as well, both in Belgium and The Netherlands.
