After the race from Limoges II we concluded that the team from Wommelgem has been steadily producing top quality birds, thanks to the efforts of Bart and Jurgen. And this is clearly still the case two weekends later, with Strong Gladice, BE17-6024165 claiming a provincial top prize in the long distance two weeks in a row:
1st Prov. Libourne 437 p. 6th Prov. Aurillac 375 p.
This was in fact not the first major achievement of Strong Gladice; she has been quite successful in earlier races as well:
55th Nat. Argenton 19,859 p. 37th Nat. Bourges 24,055 p. 15th Prov. Chateauroux 2,394 p. 22nd Prov. Blois 2,744 p.
The eye of Strong Gladice speaks volumes...
... and so does her majestic wing.
The sire is White Tows, BE10-6143294, a son of Rapido I and Black & White.
Rapido I was also the sire of several other top prize winners, with Just Wait, winner of a 1st Nat. Argenton 16,363 p., arguably being the most famous of them.
Black & White won in turn an 8th Nat. Argenton 5,208 p., a 49th Nat. Souillac 7,315 p., a 65th Nat. Argenton 7,353 p., a 151st Nat. Limoges 11,995 p. etc. She is a daughter of the highly renowned super class pair Wittekop Sylvester en Willyke.
The dam is Geschift Fantasy, BE13-6143460, a daughter of none other than Gladiator.
The dam of Geschift Fantasy is Miss Argenton, which is in turn a daughter of Elfpender Leeuw and Diamantje, which both had an excellent breeding career as well.
And so it turns out that Bart and Jurgen Geerinckx have discovered yet another highly gifted bird in their collection. This is another descendant of the invaluable Geerinckx breed, originating from those very same bloodlines and shaped by top class fancier Bart. In the meantime we do look forward to the next big result of team Geerinckx. And who knows, perhaps Strong Gladice might be able to claim a third top prize in the long distance?
