Young, ambitious, and a top level fancier!
Adrien Mirabelle (30) is a top level player belonging to a young generation, who combines dedication and enthusiasm with a good skill-set and a will to win. He has several talented pigeons in his loft, and they enabled him to become a nationally renowned player in the middle distance. His palmares already includes such titles as 1st National Champion shorter middle distance olds & YLs KBDB 2016 and 1st National Ace Pigeon Shorter middle distance KBDB 2014. He also claimed a 3-4-5-5-6-8-8-10th National Ace Pigeon title KBDB between 2014 and 2018, which makes this a nationally renowned breed indeed. He confirmed his status last year with a title of 14th National Champion shorter middle distance olds and YLs KBDB 2018.
It takes a top-tier team to perform at the highest level. And Adrien is always looking for top-tier pigeons, because he knows all too well that you can only claim victories with natural born winners. Meanwhile Adrien continues to push the boundaries, since he is now aiming to excel in the longer middle distance and the long distance as well. And he looks well on his way to achieving his goal, judging from his results in 2018.
The Mirabelle pigeons felt very comfortable in the sun-drenched 2018 racing season, with several weeks of racing in strong headwinds - often referred to as genuine pigeon racing weather. The racing loft from Ghlin was sometimes swarmed with early arrivals, which in turn led to several victories. He also had the fastest pigeon overall from Toury on 12th and 26th of May, and he pretty much dominated the very demanding race from Argenton I on 23rd of June, claiming the first nine prizes at club level (see results below). And then came the icing on the cake: a provincial victory from Limoges I.
Skam claims 1st Provincial Limoges
Skam is a great champion in the national long distance. This fantastic bird stood out in every discipline over the course of his career: the sprint, the long distance and everything in between. This is not really a surprise, because he is related to several national ace pigeons through both his parents.

That same Skam bloodline (the line of Beukenne through father Fred) has provided Adrien Mirabelle with two other racing birds that have excelled in 2018: Gorki and his own nest brother.
Gorki : the fastest from Toury of 3,850 pigeons in 2018
Adrien obtained a number of Bart Geerinckx birds, and it became more and more obvious over the years that these are fantastic breeders. He has two invaluable breeding birds in particular, with Supreme and Chipo’s Lad BE09-6354561 - They come straight from the world class breed from Wommelgem. Two nest brothers of this Chipo's Lad - Gorki and Nest Brother Gorki - played a key role in the racing lofts in Ghlin in 2018. They both not only won a first prize, they also claimed an ace pigeon title as well.
Gorki: a superb first prize winner and 6th Nat. Ace Pigeon shorter middle distance KBDB 2016

Adrien has high hopes for this pigeon in 2019.

Cassius: 7th Provincial Ace Pigeon KBDB 2018
One of the big truths in pigeon racing, and one that is hard to deny, is that ace pigeons breed ace pigeons. These type of birds are born to win races indeed. Cassius is a perfect example of this theory. Adrien Mirabelle claimed a 1st National Ace Pigeon titel shorter middle distance YLs KBDB 2014 with Zodiac. Well, Cassius is a grandson of Zodiac, and he appears to have the talents of a true ace pigeon.
Cassius: himself 7th Prov. Ace Pigeon KBDB and the grandson of a 1st Nat. Ace Pigeon shorter middle distance KBDB '14

Great results with Mirabelle pigeons in other lofts
The strength of a pigeon breed can often be deduced from their achievements in other lofts as well. And the pigeons of Adrien do have quite a list of references. For instance, the Famille 3D claimed a 6th Nat. Ace Pigeon shorter middle distance YLs KBDB 2018 last year with a direct pigeon of Adrien, while another related racing bird, the BE16-1010510, claimed a 13th Interprov. Vierzon 9,260 p. and a 57th Nat. Zone Bourges 6,176 p. in 2018.
The pigeon loft of Christophe Nottebaert from Templeuve is home to several talented pigeons that originate from the Adrien Mirabelle breed. To illustrate, we take a look at some of the best pigeons from 2018:
-BE16-1017658 : 1st Orleans 184 p. (23/6), 30th Nat. Chateauroux II 8,640 p., 10th Orleans 333 p. (19/5), 70th Nat. Zone Bourges II 1,002 p., 250th Nat. Gueret 5,331 p., 896th Nat. Bourges 20,284 p.
-BE17-1039943 : 2nd Toury 214 p., 3rd Orleans 106 p. (9/6), 3rd Pont 140 p., 4th Orleans 184 p. (23/6), 12th Nat. Zone Bourges II 1,483 p., 16th AWC Nevers 3,591 p. (1st Club 99 p.), 41st Nat. Zone Argenton 2,086 p., 109th Nat. Chateauroux 13,086 p.
-BE16-1017564 : 2nd Toury 336 p., 3rd Orleans 333 p. (19/5), 7th Orleans 184 p. (23/6), 39th CFW Chateauroux 2,034 p., 127th Nat. Gueret 5,331 p., 303rd Nat. Bourges I 20,284 p.
-BE17-1033892 : 10th Nat. Chateauroux II 13,086 p., 34th Prov. Argenton 1,477 p.
-BE18-1032550 : 1st Pont 508 p., 8th Toury 364 p., 31st Nat. Zone Bourges 5,694 p.
And the grandfather of the 9th Nat. Brive 4,384 yearlings 2018 of Francis and Kevin Defossez from Rumes is a direct Adrien Mirabelle bird as well.
Kevin Saudoyez won a 1st Semi-nat. Montluçon last year with ‘16-730’ (a direct Mirabelle bird obtained as an egg), and this star also claimed a 37th Nat. Bourges 20,284 p. and an 88th Intprov. Vierzon 9,260 p. in 2018. and Kevin Saudoyez had already won a 1st Intprov. Chateauroux 2,136 YLs 2017 and a 1st Intprov. Argenton 2,022 YLs 2018 with youngsters of Son Divock earlier on.
Jelle Roziers-Xiang from Itegem found out that his BE18-1049108 (a direct Adrien Mirabelle) was one of his best young birds of 2018. This bird claimed a 41st Nat. Chateauroux III 17,281 p., a 233rd Nat. Argenton 16,496 p., a 584th Nat. Chateauroux IV 12,855 p. and a 126th Prov. Blois 2,923 p.
A Granddaughter Stan BE16-1016322 claimed a 40th Nat. Gueret 5,331 p. ’18, a 44th Intprov. Chateauroux 2,034 p. ’18, and a 22nd Prov. Chateauroux 1,158 p. ’17 for Sébastien Casaert-Sénéchal. Her dam stems from a joint breeding with Adrien: Zodiac (1st Nat. Ace Pigeon KBDB) x daughter Nikolaas. These are pure ace pigeon bloodlines!
And let's not forget the 5th Nat. Ace Pigeon France 400-500km of Simon Gantier, whose dam is also a direct Adrien Mirabelle bird.
Adrien's pigeons were again outstanding 2018, just like they were in 2017.
14th Nat. Champion shorter middle distance KBDB olds & yearlings in 2018
The breed of Adrien Mirabelle was once again one of the winners in the national championships in 2081. It is quite a challenging task to claim a top prize in the national championships KBDB every single season, especially for a young fancier like Adrien.
Adrien was eager to learn right from the start. He visited many national champions to watch their pigeons arrive home, and to learn something about their racing strategy and their overall approach. He kept his eyes and ears open, looking for seemingly insignificant details that could make a big difference. His talents, his ambition and his drive, combined with a top quality collection of pigeons, have done it for him. He knows how to get the most out of his pigeons, and how to translate their potential into fantastic results. This is what defines the best fanciers, and it applies to Adrien Mirabelle as well. His national championship and ace pigeon titles KBDB speak volumes: this is a top class breed and a top class fancier.
Five successful racing birds were transferred to the breeding loft in late 2018, to assure the future of the team. This means Adrien's breeding loft is now home to quite a collection of birds, including a 3-4-5-6-8-10-17th National Ace Pigeon KBDB. In fact, the parents of most of them are still there as well. Who would say no to such a collection of breeders? The pigeon family of Adrien Mirabelle looks more than ready to tackle the 2019 season and future season as well. Good luck, Adrien!
