Roziers-Xiang (Itegem, BE) take revenge for last year's defeat with a 1st Nat. Bourges

This is quite something! The Roziers-Xiang combination missed out on a national victory in 2016 by a mere 13 seconds before eventually claiming a national victory in 2017 against 38,455 young birds in Bourges. Racing bird Gust was in fact the fastest of a total of 59,243 pigeons.

A young birds' specialist

Jelle Roziers is a fancier with a proven record. He clearly knows how to get his young birds in top form for the nationals. He starts every major race with a team that is perfectly prepared, and he leaves nothing to chance. Over the years he has been winning quite a number of top 10 prizes at national, zonal, and provincial level. As a result, Jelle is always one of the main contenders in the first major young birds' race of the season: Bourges. Jelle continued to perform at a high level when he started working together with Green Xiang, our PIPA agent for China. 2016 was a great season with a 2nd National Bourges II, and a 2nd and 7th National Ace Pigeon YBs KBDB Longer Middle Distance. The respective winners Illinois, Seven Junior and Tampa moved to the breeding loft after their feat. Meanwhile, 2017 is proving to be a memorable season as well, mainly thanks to Gust winning the most important young birds' classic of the season from Bourges II last weekend.

Gust, 1st National Bourges II

Gust took a glorious win from Bourges. He is inbred to the stock dam of Jelle and Green from his father's side: Queen L (winner of a 1st National La Souterraine 2004 and currently one of the world's best breeders: Illinois, Seven Junior and Tampa are descendants of Queen L). The sire of Gust was sold in a PIPA auction just a few months ago, and this pigeon has an exceptional pedigree, combining the invaluable Queen L bloodline with Whity Bart (a direct Bart Geerinckx and one of Jelle's top breeders: the 2nd and 7th National Ace Pigeon 2016 were great-grandchildren of Whity Bart) and Washington (Houben).

In the spotlight once again: Queen L, the number one breeding hen!

His pedigree from his mother's side is quite impressive as well, being based on a direct Jos Vercammen bird, obtained in a PIPA auction a few years back, and coming from the bloodlines De Leeuw, Beckham and Lady Dolores. These are asically all of the best lines of Vercammen (Vremde).

Bourges II is an overall success

We are still waiting for the official results from Bourges but the preliminary results based on the arrivals show an impressive string of results: 1-17-38-39-72-161-190-192-223-224-225-...

The provincial results have already been made official, with the team winning the following prizes against 5,756 young birds: 1-14-34-35-48-110-119-128-129-144-145-146-155-176-177-191-218-223-224-232-233-259-275-289-319-325-334-346-402-425-436-439-451-453-... (75/109; 44 per 10!). This is a stellar performance!

Not over yet

There are still three national races to come in the next few weeks, and the racing team of Jelle Roziers and Green Xiang is clearly in great form. The old-fashioned training regime of the two fanciers pays off; only the strongest survive. We are eager to see how the racing team will be performing in the next couple of weeks, although it will be difficult to match the results from Bourges. But you never know with the pigeons of Jelle Roziers...
