


Lee and Kevin Buddle of Dover timed two pigeons to take first and second open, first and second ES section. First on the clock was a three year old cock on 1251mpm over a distance of 440 miles. Now named Apollo, this cock was flown on the Buddle's chaos widowhood system. Apollo is a son of Tom, the BICC certificate of merit award winner. An excellent breeder, Tom is the grandsire of H and P Archibald's The Proof. Next to time was a two year old hen, Bella, on 1221mpm. Bella is full of the best long distance international winning bloodlines as her sire is an inbred son of Brockamp's Perpignan 06. The dam of Bella is Kobal Laureaat, an inbred daughter of New Laureaat.

Mark Gilbert of Windsor also timed two pigeons, the first of which was a two year old on 1192mpm over 453 miles taking third open and first CS section. Mark's next timer was another two year old on 1119mpm and in seventh open, third CS section. Mark’s first pigeon is from a son of New Laureaat, Hugo Battenburg. New Laureaat was the Golden Wing Winner 2011-2012-2013, he was 1st National Barcelona 10,685 birds and 1st International Barcelona 25,382 birds 2013, X daughter of Etterbak. Etterbak was 1st International Ace Pigeon 2005-2006-2007, when paired to a daughter of Sumerian Fighter. Sumerian Fighter was 1st International Barcelona 17,094 birds, one of the hardest Barcelona races ever, X daughter of New Laureaat x Romee. Mark’s second pigeon is from a son of Blue Champion, Kees Droog. Blue Champion won 20th National St-Vincent, X Rozalynn. Rozalynn took 8th National Barcelona 2017, when paired to a daughter of Jack x Dafne of Jelle Jellema. Jack won 6th Nat St-Vincent, 26th Nat Barcelona, 35th Nat Perpignan, plus many more results. Dafne won 3rd Nat Perpignan, 35th Nat Pau and 85th Nat Pau. Mark had a further four pigeons in the top eleven of the section.

W Carr and Son of Guildford were fourth open and second CS section with a two year old on 1138mpm over 440 miles. The partners had another two pigeons in the top twelve of the section, the first of which was a two year old on 1073mpm in fourth place. Bill's dark chequer cock was bred from Mark Gilbert's international bloodlines. It was flown north earlier this season before being given a two hundred mile training toss from Truro.

Mr and Mrs Rhodes and Son timed two pigeons to take fifth and sixth open, third and fourth ES section. Both were three year olds, flying 445 miles and timed on 1136 and 1122mpm respectively. The partners had another two pigeons in the top twenty-one of the section. First on the clock was a blue pied Frialdenhoffen hen, a grand-daughter of Forest Gump and Donkere Simons. Second to time was a blue cock containing Frialdenhoffen x Alwyn Hill bloodlines. Third was a son of the partner's second open Palamos pigeon and their sixth open Zaragoza.
The Truelove Family of Folkestone were eighth open and fifth ES section with a five year old on 115mpm over a distance of 437 miles.
A B Coker of Wickford was ninth open and eighth ES section with a five year old on 1099mpm over 468 miles. Anthony clocked a second pigeon on 1087mpm to also take twelfth open.

Completing the top ten and in first NC section is John Black of Hitchin with a two year old on 1094mpm over a distance of 493 miles. John timed a second pigeon, a three year old on 837mpm to take second NC section and he also clocked a three year old on 560mpm to take fourth section. First on the clock was a chequer hen bred from John's Marley Westrop stock. It was raced on the widowhood system. Next to time was a chequer, widowhood Southwell cock bred from stock purchased from Justin Bernard of Portsmouth back in 2016.
Around the sections

T and B Woodhouse of Hitchin clocked a five year old on 598mpm over a distance of 493 miles to take third NC section. Ted and Brenda timed a cock bred from two Pennine Heights pigeons owned by Brian Shackleton of Keighley and containing Top Star bloodlines.
Brooks Brothers and Wilcox of High Littleton were the WS section winners with a three year old on 659mpm over 454 miles and which was also forty-second open. The partners timed a second pigeon, a four year old on 427mpm to also take fourth section. The sire of the partners' first timer is Brother in Arms bred by Barry and Pete Winter and Alwyn Hill. Brother in Arms is bred from Jet, the sire of Little Gem and the De Vos hen, the dam of Wing Down. The dam is a 2018 hen retained for stock as it was bred from a son of Wilf Reed's Champion Darkie, the NFC certificate of merit award winner from Pau.

Clive and Jill Rogers and Neil Sales of Writhlington timed a two year old on 553mpm over 451 miles to take second WS section. The partner's second pigeon, a four year old was clocked on 484mpm to take third section. First on the clock was a chequer white flight cock bred from a pair of pigeons they purchased from SR and WH Knox. Second to time was a chequer pied cock bred from a Terry Preddy cock when paired to a Padfield Family hen.

Dean Jones of Sibsey was the NE section winner with a three year old on 700mpm over a distance of 562 miles and which was also forty-first open. Dean's hen contains Padfield x Impett bloodlines being a grand-daughter of Vince and a double grand-daughter of Old 89. On the dam's side there is The Goldmine Brugemann from Dave Impett, sire of Patsy, first Welsh national Pau.
