When he moved to his new home in Buissenal, Thierry Marichal had no other choice but to bring with him his pigeons. At the begining of 2014, he built up some great lofts where he placed his youngsters born in 2014. The goal was to let them fly a few races to gain experiences for the coming seasons. The other pigeons of his previous colony were raced in the lofts of his father in Pipaix.
New begining
The season 2015 was a renewal. There were no objectives as the most important thing was to let his team, composed of more or less fifty yearlings, fly a few long distances races. In the coming years, Thierry wants to race exclusively the extreme long distance races. However, the Marichal loft achieved some great performances for the first year of racing in the new lofts. Being in advance on his program, Thierry was even to be found ahead of some national races (a.o. Limoges & Agen) which proves the quality of his pigeons. We have to say that Thierry never looked at his pocket when it was time to purchase new blood. Being a good friend of Joost De Smeyter and Sébastien Casaert, he decided to form the main basis of his loft around the best lines from these two fanciers. He also stay focused on the potential new purchases that can be done during the winter. But seeing his love for the extreme long distance races, he knows he has to stay patient!
Since then, we are sure that Thierry will give us the opportunity to visit him during the coming seasons. Meanwhile, we propose you to check the fantastic performances booked by the Blue Limoges, without doubt his best pigeons of last year:
