Michel Debecker - Pellenberg, Lubbeek (BE) First provincial Brabant Argenton (8/8) old birds

Michel Debecker from Pellenberg (Lubbeek) has belonged to the top of the pigeon sport in and around the Leuvense for years. Michel can undeniably be branded as a real all-rounder. His preferential racing area situates itself from Momignies up to and including the 1-day long distance races.

Being successful in such a framework is in this day of the modern pigeon sport where specialization flourishes, is therefore not so obvious. Yet the “potato farmer” from Pellenberg manages to surprise friend and enemy every year with spectacular performances. The now closing season is certainly no exception to this rule. The sportive overview 2009 is a story of one highlight after the other. At the start of this season he was unstoppable and the competition was reduced to watching. His racing team showed what they were capable of from the very beginning.

A few strong masterpieces from a marvellous team of yearlings:

Here a full sister of the Tielts racing phenomenon-“Simply the Best”- 1st national Ace pigeon BSD-first provincial Ace pigeon KBDB 2002 with as pedigree:

The proverbial icing on the cake came from the angle of the “064”
20500064/2007 a two year cock whose honours list leaves no room for andy interpretation, it is simply “top”.
Bred as a summer youngster he was given a great deal of training and entered for the big sprint races at the end of the season. Pigeon logic usually states that such late bred pigeons don’t really perform well at the beginning of the season, motivated by the fact that they don’t have much experience. From the end of June however  they have to start pressing their noses to the window. Yet real toppers soon show what they are made of. The virginally white performance card was soon filled in with verve by the winning of 1st-1st-1st-3rd-3rd-5th and 27th from Toury, whilst from Blois, his first encounter with the tough middle distance, also resulted in a prize (70th against 237 p). Michel couldn’t miss these performances. He had yet another promise up his sleeve with which he coulg race as top man in 2009. The aspirations were high, yet the motor didn’t really get up to the expected speed for the first few months. But the sting in the tail, Argenton.

For completeness we will give you the performances of the provincial winner of Argenton:
46th Pithiviers (1066 p)-418th Bourges (1259 p)-80th Obrafo (530 p)-284th Montluçon (CFW-4425 p)-177th CFW (2372 p) from Vichy;-68th CFW Vierzon (1463 p); 106th Bourges CFW (4506 p) to finally perform brilliantly from Argenton, which resulted in the winning in succession the
-1st Obrafo (383 p);
-1st Club Tienen (128 p);
1st CFW (2099 p);
1st Provincial B.U (508 p);.
-2nd national Zone C (2421 p);
5th national (5043 p).

The provincial winner from Argenton 2009 is not the only one to reach high summits. His pedigree opened clear prospects. A nice pedigree in itself doesn’t say everything but it is an explanation when the expectations are met. Let’s take a closer look at his pedigree.

The beautiful performance from Argenton had a bitter after taste because it could have been better. The winner lost a lot of time when he returned home. He returned home together with a fellow loft companion – a youngster 2009- but both from the opposite direction. You guess the rest of the story. They crashed into each other in full flight, with the result being that they lost a great deal of time, something which was severely punished in the result national youngsters. Dozens of places were lost, never mind says Michel, father would have said “that is pigeon sport, the time in the clock counts. The rest is hearsay”.
