The success story of Gevaert-Lannoo came to international prominence for the first time in 2008, when the team won a 2nd Nat. Bourges against 19,084 old birds. The bloodlines of Chateauke and Kaafje proved crucial in their rise to the top, and it is thanks to these pigeons that Gevaert-Lannoo turned into an internationally renowned combination. This golden bloodline was combined with the line of Gaby Vandenabeele's Bliksem, and together they enabled Paul and Carlos to win top results on a weekly basis. This pigeon, the BE16-4076089, managed to win the title of best young bird of Belgium, both in the ranking for four and three races. It is thanks to her first prize in this second ranking that she won the title of 1st Nat. Ace Pigeon longer middle distance YBs 2016, as well as the PIPA ranking for best Belgian young bird in the national races of 2016 with 4 prizes. This hen is a grandchild of Fabian of Jo Bauters, a super class pigeon and winner of a 1st Nat. Poitiers 2014. The Belgian Thibaut-Boons combination has won quite a number of top results in recent years seemingly with ease, to the amazement of pigeons fanciers from across the globe. The combination won two consecutive 1st national championship titles shorter middle distance KBDB, and 2016 was a great season as well with many great results, putting them in pole position for yet another KBDB championship title. Mark Gilbert is without doubt a pioneer in pigeon racing in Great-Britain. Mark obtained several top class pigeons from across Europe, and he became a nationally renowned player in almost every discipline. He gained international prominence as well thanks to his excellent results in the international classics, including a national win in Pau and St. Vincent in 2016. It has always been Mark's dream to claim an international first prize in Barcelona one day, and that is why he obtained some super class pigeons, including Etienne Meirlaen's Kannibaal Barcelona, winner of a 1st Interprov. and 4th International Barcelona, and already the sire of a 1st Nat. A few years ago the young and ambitious Sky Chen travelled to The Netherlands and Belgium to obtain some world class pigeons, and to build relations with some renowned fanciers. He obtained youngsters from several top class players, and he is now selling several descendants of these iconic breeders.
The Vandenheede brothers are very well versed in achieving impressive overall results and claiming prestigious victories. Once the racing team from Zingem has reached peak form, they are almost impossible to beat. The brothers added a national first prize from Argenton against 13,629 old birds in 2016, adding to a total of 15 national victories.
It was the ultimate reward for many years of hard work. He had won quite a number of top prizes at regional and interprovincial level already, but the most important feat in the career of this ambitious fancier was a national victory yearlings from Argenton I with the fastest of 31,939 pigeons. And there was more: he continued to perform at a high level throughout the season, eventually winning the title of 2nd National Ace Pigeon KBDB longer middle distance, just behind Willy Daniels's super class bird. Derek Rooney obtained two youngsters of Jonge Bliksem of Jan Hooymans, and they proved to be two invaluable pigeons. Jonge Bliksem developed into a stock breeder, as the sire of the outstanding Harry and his equally talented brothers and sisters. Derek renamed the half-brother and half-sister of Harry Exclusive Bliksem 1 and Exclusive Bliksem 2 and both birds achieved remarkable breeding results. The two ace breeders are now put up for auction on PIPA along with some of their children. Very rare quality because Jonge Bliksem himself no longer fertilises.
