Jan Hooymans is without doubt one of the leading lofts in The Netherlands. His stock pair Jonge Bliksem x Dirkje (the renowned Harry dynasty) has bred an impressive number of NPO stars and outstanding breeders, as well as prize winners in international One Loft Races. Grandmasters Gerard Koopman, Pieter Veenstra and Hans & Evert-Jan Eijerkamp have obtained breeding pigeons from him as well, which says a lot about the Hooymans breed. The wonderboy of pigeon racing in Belgium continues to perform at the highestlevel, with the same strain as Marcel Aelbrecht and De Rauw-Sablon. The Danish fanciers M. & C. Hansen and Henrik Meldgaard are amongst the most ambitious in the whole of Scandinavia … they have introduced some fantastic pigeons from Gaston Van De Wouwer (Belgium) and founded a breeding loft with pigeons from this fantastic fancier. The middle distance is undervalued by some but it forms the basis for almost every successful long distance breed.
