The Jubilee year 2015 proved a great season for Hans & Evert-Jan Eijerkamp – it was probably their most successful season so far. Hans celebrated his 65th year as a pigeon fancier, while Evert-Jan has been involved in the sport for almost 40 years. Their 2015 palmares was nothing short of impressive, with several first prizes and excellent overall performances, resulting in astounding prize percentages. The top class lines of Heremans-Ceusters, the invaluable Janssen breed and the renowned Van Loon pigeon family were the key ingredients for an exceptional 2015 season. A select group of young birds from their most talented breeders will now be sold in auction.
Marco Klein Falckenborg from East Holland has been winning first prizes and top results in the NPO classics for years. He has good contacts with many successful fanciers, which enabled him to obtain top quality birds and to create the exact pigeon breed he had in mind. Marco invested in the first class bloodlines of Leo Heremans, Alwin Petrie, Kees Bosua, Stickers-Donckers and Rudi Diels, and he merged them into a truly fantastic breeding and racing team. His best breeders and racing birds will now be sold in auction, including such superstars as Mega Mindy, winner of 5 first prizes against 1,300 pigeons on average, and many more invaluable pigeons.
Sebastian Cassaert has played a central role in pigeon racing in Belgium over the past ten years. It was the introduction of Van De Wouwer’s top class hen ‘Palme D’Or’ that really unlocked the potential of this pigeon family. Her direct youngsters ‘Amalia’ and ‘Nikolaas’ both own the title of First National Ace Pigeon KBDB. No wonder his old birds’ auction on PIPA in late 2014 was a record breaking event. Some assumed that Sebastian was about to take a step back but that was not quite the case: in 2015 the grandmaster won a national victory for the first time in his career! We are auctioning a group of unflown youngsters from the best breeders that were sold last year. They were kept aside especially for this PIPA auction.
The successful De Vroe – Van Gaver – Vandeputte combination joined forces as DVV pigeons and they developed into one of Belgium’s very best middle distance and long distance pigeon lofts. Martin Hetzel introduced pigeons from the German icons Heinz Meier and Gunter Prange to have a breeding loft of exceptional quality. He acquired children of Meier and Prange’s famous national aces which have had a great impact in German pigeon racing. One of the most striking achievements in the history of pigeon racing in Belgium came from Luc Vermeerbergen and Roby Wilms, whose young birds’ team has been achieving great results season after season. The number one highlight in their career was the race from Chateauroux on 6 September 2015, in which they won an impressive 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th national against 10,442 pigeons. They also had the fastest of 12,429 pigeons overall. They are now selling their best youngsters on PIPA for the fourth consecutive year, and this year’s auction will also include their four prize winners from Chateauroux. We also bring you several descendants of stock sire ‘Lucky Luc’, the invaluable bloodlines of national ace pigeon ‘National Wonder’, the best of Leo Heremans and the best racing birds in the national team of Vermeerbergen-Wilms. The legacy of Gaston Van De Wouwer quickly started to spread across the world after his impressive PIPA auction. The Dutch Arnold Van Zwam was one step ahead of the others and he paid a visit to Van De Wouwer in Berlaar just when he was at the height of his career. It enabled Arnold to obtain a unique collection of direct Van De Wouwer pigeons. These were top quality birds all directly related to the renowned Kaasboer. A select group of some of the most renowned direct Van De Wouwer pigeons will now be sold exclusively on PIPA. The pigeons on offer in this auction were directly acquired from Gaston van de Wouwer as eggs by Arnold van Zwam. Hence the Dutch rings.
