Fathers and sons Veulemans-Perilleux and their Golden Francine
This victory was bound to happen and it is a crowning achievement for the Veulemans and Perilleux families, which have been working closely together for six years. Toon an Andre Veulemans decided back in 2008 to race together with Olav Perilleux, supported by his father Jacques. This was the beginning of a great joint effort resulting in one national win, seven zonal wins, one semi-national double, as well as 66 national, zonal and semi-national top 20 places and 170 top 100 places since they started working together in 2008. You can read more about this combination in an earlier article (in Dutch only).
The winner is a magnificent blue coloured hen that would not be out of place in a beauty contest. She is named after Francine Luxem, the husband of Albert Derwa (from the Derwa-Luxem combination), and she was given this name because her sire is Super Derwa (BE11-2092289), obtained as a voucher of Albert and Francine. This amazing combination has won two provincial wins this season already. You can reread our report on the provincial win of Derwa-Luxem from Vierzon here; click here for the report on their victory from Blois (in Dutch only).
Olav had purchased three vouchers from Albert in 2011 so he could pick three of their young birds. After Olav had chosen two, Albert advised him to take one of his two youngsters that were not yet ready to wean. This means Olav had to make a second trip to Albert’s loft to pick up his third young bird later on, but he did not regret! This hen is a granddaughter of Platinum Pair from her mother’s side. You can find detailed information about the amazing breeding pair Platinum Pair here. Click here for the full pedigree of Golden Francine; click here for an overview of her best achievements.
Golden Francine was raced in total widowhood. The cocks and hens can see each other for thirty minutes before being basketing.
The 2014 season was started with 34 pairs in total widowhood, 20 hens and 15 widowers. He has an additional 35 breeding pairs and he has bred about 170 young birds. The pigeon family is based on the following bloodlines: Veulemans-Perilleux (home breed), Gaston Vandewouwer, Ronny Menten, Derwa-Luxem, Rudi Hendrickx and Lambrechts-Lismont.
