It was in the middle of 2005 when somebody told Hans & Evert-Jan Eijerkamp that the loft in Vosselaar housed pigeons of great quality. Hans & Evert-Jan did not hesitate and they decided to go for it in 2005. In 2006 they purchased an entire round of youngsters from Heremans-Ceusters (H-C) pigeons and brought them to Brummen. The pigeons were good right from the start: Eijerkamp got to send their Finette, a direct H-C, to the Olympiad in Dortmund (2009). It was a great start to a bright future for this loft. She was second Olympiad Pigeon in category B.
When Hans & Evert-Jan heard that all pigeons of the H-C loft were to be auctioned in March 2007 they had only one goal: they wanted to buy the best pigeons and take care of them! They had quite a lot of success with these pigeons in a short period of time and their introduction led to a performance boost for the Eijerkamp pigeon family. This was an auction they will not forget: pigeons such as Euro, Rossi, Spinneke, Peter, Charlene, Goochelaar, Mysterious and of course super champion Jackpot were moved to the Greenfield Stud to breed descendants. It was a dream come true for team Eijerkamp.

From that moment on the Eijerkamp family was seen as the treasurer of the Heremans-Ceusters pigeon breed. They had a clear vision and they took great care of their pigeons, which performed very well season after season. These birds did not win only in the Eijerkamp loft; they have had quite a lot of references over the years. The Heremans-Ceusters breed has conquered the world under the leadership of Hans & Evert-Jan Eijerkamp. This loft did great in 2012 as well, mainly thanks to their H-C pigeons of course.

This is an impressive list of achievements and Eijerkamp was probably the only loft that managed to win so many prizes this season. They even finished the season with two Olympiad pigeons. This is the result of the clear vision of Hans & Evert-Jan in recent years. Vivian and Lisa will represent The Netherlands at the Olympiad in Nitra next season. These pigeons are of course part of the successful H-C breed as well.

This is an amazing pigeon: a combination of outstanding achievements and great origins. Her sire is the one and only Jackpot. He is a great breeder that Hans & Evert-Jan purchased at the auction of Heremans-Ceusters. The Jackpot is one of the best sons of De Olympiade 003. The dam of Vivian is Artemis, a wonderful hen and a full sister of Finette, which was already second Olympiad Pigeon in Dortmund 2009. Olympic Vivian is third Olympiad Pigeon in Category B with the following results:
3rd Olympiad Pigeon Cat.B Nitra 2013 1st Provincial Ace Pigeon Middle Distance 2012 1st NPO Nanteuil against 8,663 pigeons 2nd NPO Breuil against 5,848 pigeons 1st prov Meer against 7,001 pigeons 1st Pommeroeul against 961 pigeons 2nd Breuil le V against 4,396 pigeons 2nd Pommeroeul against 1,523 pigeons 4th Peronne against 3,415 pigeons
Her sire Jackpot is also the sire of, for instance Jack (1st Pommeroeul against 4,946 pigeons, 7th NPO Peronne against 10,274 pigeons) and Ted (3rd Pommeroeul against 4,946 pigeons, 4th Morlincourt against 3,788 pigeons). We will discuss this exceptional breeder later on; he is in fact a half brother of Den Jan and Bettini!

This hen has the bloodlines of Heremans-Ceusters as well, combined with the origins of Eijerkamp-Janssen and Van Loon. Good lines breed good lines; that is the most important lesson here. We can see on her pedigree that her sire was bred from Rossi x Spinneke. This couple has long been known as the wonder couple of Heremans-Ceusters: their descendants have dominated pigeon races all over the world since 2003! They had a great impact and Olympic Lisa is a good example of the quality of this couple. She won for instance:
1st Olympiad Pigeon Cat.B NITRA 2013 1st National Ace Pigeon W.E.N.C. Middle Distance 2012 1st Peronne against 548 pigeons 2nd Strombeek against 5,667 pigeons 2nd Meer against 7,001 pigeons 2nd Pommeroeul against 1,626 pigeons 4th NPO Nanteuil against 16,188 pigeons 4th Duffel against 8,792 pigeons 4th Breuil le V against 4,396 pigeons
Several top class breeders and racers were purchased from Heremans-Ceusters. These pigeons were already well respected back then. Still, team Eijerkamp added a new dimension to this amazing pigeon breed. Their quality is illustrated for instance by Euro, Jackpot and Rossi. We think these champions have influenced modern day pigeon racing in an amazing way!

To give you an idea we have made an overview that only includes their very best results:

It would be difficult for the Eijerkamp family to do even better in the future: they have already won so many top results, they own a lot of Olympiad Pigeons and they have a collection of excellent breeders! Still, they try to make improvements every season again. Time will tell if they succeed but we are confident in team Eijerkamp! They will continue to go forward and they will continue to dominate pigeon racing at home and abroad. It is self-evident that the Eijerkamp fanciers are really glad with their results and we wish them a good start to 2013. We hope 2013 will be as great as the past seasons!
