Reyniers Henri wins Vichy national against 2353 old pigeons!"The pigeon is also the fastest in the whole race against 13.534"

Reyniers Henri, Lubbeek

Henri raced pigeons between 1983 till 1989 , but due to lack of time, he quit racing and started again in 2003. Mrs Reyniers, Viviane never assisted during the first period of racing pigeons in the eighties.
However, now she assists her husband for 100 %. She does not only take care of the young birds, she is also responisble for the breeders.

Henri :  "60 % of the performances or even more is thanks to my wife who helps me..."
Henri and Viviane have one son Kristof and 2 grandchildren, none of them are involved in the pigeonsport.

Responsible liberation ? …
Like you know the weather circumstances on the day of liberation were very bad, so many people think the liberation was an irresponible decision.  Henri however thinks that if they would have wait for a few more days ( pigeons have to stay in the basket for all that time ) it would have been even worse.

"Anaïs" The national winner. 2244930/2004
"Anaïs" won first national ; she is a hen, unfortunately she was not doubled in the series of hens, so she does not win the title of national winner against the hens, so only one national title now.

"Anaïs" was coupled just like other yearling hens on 25th of December. The eggs were broken, so she did not bred youngsters in the winter.
Her youngsters of 11 days on the basketting day of
Vichy were her first youngsters. Was this the motivation to win first national ?
When Anais came back from the race she did not land on the plate from the sputnik but flew immediately to her youngsters in the loft.

Also pigeons from Paul Volckaert Putte-Grasheide and Louis Vanderwielen Boortmeerbeek,Simon Meeus Lubbeek, René Van Schoubroek Binkom, Luc Sevenants Linden-Lubbeek, Maurice Vandevelde Scherpenheuvel.

Up to now Henri only raced up to 572 KM ; his intention is to race also longer distance races in the future.

Method
:

Widowers – They have been coupled on 25th december, the yearling cocks and their hens could breed a round of youngsters.
After this, the couples are seperated. Around 15th of March the cocks are coupled to their widowhens and the yearling hens are coupled with old breeding cocks. After 3 days of incubation they go on widowhood. In this way Henri can practice total widowhood with the guarantee that the partners are home.
Before the basketting the partner is shown always and when the cocks arrive home they can see their hen for about 1,30 minutes…and the hens can see their cock until the next day. The raced hens are never closed up in their boxes.

Youngsters – During the 3 to 4 first races pigeons are raced with what we call the shove door (2 x Momignies and 2 x Soissons). The young cocks are only raced up to Soissons. The young hens race the middle distance races. ( Young cocks are coupled to old hens and young hens with old cock ).

Henri started with about 12 breeding couples, 3 old pigeons, 15 yearlings and 14 hens, now only 7 hens remain after the season.

Henri and his wife are very strict when they take care of the pigeons, everything has to happen on the same time every day !
( the training of the pigeons, feeding, etc…)
