Balkanik Fair Play Race is for sure the oldest OLR in Eastern Europe and maybe even the oldest one in Europe with its first edition taking place in the year 2000. For sure, it was the OLR with the strongest competition in Europe this year with the following international participation: Jan Hooymans, Alfons Klaas, Jos Thoné, Jacob Poortvliet, Klaus Stieneker, Gyselbrecht-Leliaert, Herman & Dennis Beverdam, Marc de Cock, Chris Hebberecht, John & Anja Aarts, Dr.Ruben Lanckriet, Heinz-Karl Lang, Alistair Hogg, Wout Spierings, Markus Soelnner, Team Germany, Kallmeyer familly, Dieter Siebert, Hok Reijnen, Jaap Koerhoon, Jelger Klinkenberg etc.
It was a very strong final, a real final with the first two pigeons reaching the velocity of 957 mpm, after flying a distance of 500 km, from east to west, from Ukraine. Released at 7.45 in the morning the first two pigeons arrived at 16.27, Jan Hooymans winning the first prize and Reijnen Loft the second. After 2 minutes, another 2 pigeons arrived, Jan Hooymans taking third place and Alistair Hogg taking fourth place. It was the first time in this OLR history when a Dutch pigeon won the first place in the final, but what a victory, with the first three places won by Dutch pigeons, and with 6 Dutch pigeons in the first 14! Tha Harry dinasty of Jan Hooymans seems to be unstopable in any location on the globe. The 10 finalist and the 10 ace pigeons will be auctioned like in the last 3 years on PIPA.
Liviu Stefanescu (owner of Balkanik Fair Play Loft) holding the 3rd place in the final, Bibi Stefanescu holding the 2nd place and Mr Florea Sorin holding the 1st place.
Dinu Mihai with Andrei Gheorghe - 5th place in the final (first Romanian pigeon), but also winner of the 1st Ace Pigeon Balkanik OLR 2013!
