Zijn er dan geen duiven met "slechte" ogen? Die zijn er zeker, volop denk ik. Koppel maar twee duiven met een grote pupil, scherpe cirkels d.w.z. een scherpe, niet vloeiend in elkaar overgaande afscheiding tussen iris en pupil, vooral aan de voorkant, de kant van de snavel, dunne waterige kleur in de iris, enkelvoudige kleur zonder tekening, "oneffenheden" e.d. en u bent op de verkeerde weg.

Zuurstof is het belangrijkste supplement en een zeer omstreden begrip in de sport in het algemeen. Denk maar aan al de histories rond EPO, Aranesp (alias de “wespen” van veearts Landuyt) en consoorten. Met EPO konden wielrenners in de jaren ’90 boven hun eigen kunnen uitstijgen. Iedereen weet dat EPO de rode bloedcellen in het bloed doet stijgen, maar waarom heeft dit zo’n ongelofelijk effect? Het antwoord is heel simpel, zuurstof!

We have not departed from our costum to investigate every conclusion beforehand, and have never made a rash decision and also have never been strongly influenced with the different theories put forward with much publicity, hoping to find a ready market and financial gain. Up to the present time, as we are writing this, we have never, after being in the pigeonsport for over 20 years, rued the day of our innate caution on this point.
