PIPA goes into detail about its selection procedure
PIPA has been following a strict procedure for the selection of pigeons for its auctions for many years now. Just to give you a better idea of what our selection procedure looks like we have published a detailed explanation in the submenu ‘Quality Control’ on the auctions page.

In the first part of our selection procedure the information we receive about the pigeons plays a role
The second part of our procedure involves a quality check of every single pigeon in the hand
A DNA certificate should confirm that the pigeon’s parentage, which is mentioned on the pedigree, is correct

Wat doe je met de doorsnee liefhebber die niet in boxen kweekt waar geen enkele waarborg kan gegeven worden over de afkomst?
Een heel mooi verhaal zo die selectieprocedures... Waar staat een goede basis gezondheid !
Sommige (op papier) super duiven krijgen net aan een ronde jongen groot, voordat ze omvallen van een beetje geel ! Dan weet je genoeg. Maar wel een goeie stamkaart !

Who is the judge of the pigeons, and what expertise does this person have. Is he a past "International Winner", with countless success in the pigeon world. What credentials does he have ? I would only be interested in the opinion of such a fancier !
This is good, the DNA ascertains that the pigeon is what it is as far as parentage and pedigree goes, most important.
The handling aspect confirms that the bird is of sound physical being with good feathering amongst the points which should be considered.It is crucial that only provable facts are stated as we all know the sport is abundant with theories.
With reference to the ability of the bird to develop become a good racer or breeder no one can forecast these facts
not even the more successful fanciers, one can deduct that pigeons of certain parentage will be better equipped to race long distance as opposed to sprinting,and so on.
Buyers buy for their own reasons, testing their judgement then hoping to prove their aspirations by breeding winners from the purchase,
Certain pigeons, pigeons of certain strains will command better prices and returns. so reducing the risk of failure is sensible. Proof of claimed performance is important and should be assured.
Many champion pigeons as is the case in thoroughbred horses are bred from what is considered average or mediocre parents, so the fascination continues.
Any reassurance re advertised pigeons should be welcomed then the more information available will help the Fancier to reach his decision.
Commercial studs will buy the named birds for the selling aspect or commercial value.
Choose with care, that not so attractive pigeon on paper may be the one for you.
Honesty is paramount one must be certain of origin and stated claims.

For all I know the judges of PIPA are well known about there expertise. Mr. Ariën is offcourse the man behind succesformation Verreckt-Ariën. Mr. Martin Martens has been with pigeons since his younger years with the best racers of Belgium and one of the first employees of PIPA. Mr. Vincent v/d Kerk is from his start as a young guy succesvol in the extreme long distance racing, he still is a very succesfull Barcelona-player.
When I see the movie ( in dutch ) i'll see very wise judges. For all I know, mr. Arien and v/d Kerk have had very big successes in their lifes and Mr. Martens has a very wide knowledge of toppigeons, build up through the years!

Is maar een keurmeester!De mand!heb ook vaker van die mooie in de hand gehad,altijd er goed op staan,mooie pluim grootste paniek zaaiers op het hok en in de lucht!Maar die nauwelijks het papier raken!Heb er ook duiven gehad van waar ik dacht!die blijft niet lang zitten!die zich later ontpopte als mijn besten!heb er 1 gehad echt een lelijke duif altijd mager krijg er geen vlees aan speelden 6 prijzen achter elkaar Internationaal en Nationaal speelden 3000 prijs kilometers op 4 weken tijd!behoorlijk vroeg 962e Prijs Nationaal was de slechtste Prijs.6 Prijzen op 2 jaar tijd!zoveel verstand hebben wij van duiven!bij iedere andere liefhebber was deze duif allang opgeruimd ook bij mij!normaal!maar omdat ik te weinig doffers had mocht hij blijven.lach me rot als ik lees dochter of zoon uit de Nationale overwinnaar!{en wat ze opbrengen?mega bedragen}is misschien ooit zijn 1e en besten prijs geweest!en ze worden bijna nooit meer gespeelt,of worden direct verkocht! terwijl er nog nooit een goeden duif is uit gekweekt.heb het hier zelf mee gemaakt prijs 6e 7e 8e Nationaal Bordeaux van 3 verschillenden liefhebbers in Roermond tegen meer dan 13.000 duiven!prijs 6e en prijs 7e speelden hun 2 duiven door!verspeelden hun 2 kopduiven op een volgenden vlucht in het zelfden jaar!prijs 8 had hem thuis gehouden en je kon er het jaar erop,jongen uitkopen voor 500 euro per stuk!uit de goeden bordeaux.p.s van duiven met minderen prestatie's heb ik 10 tallen foto's van laten maken!Behalve van bovengenoemden doffer 2008-1822562 zo lelijk was hij!p.s op Marseille 2012 verspeeld.waarbij hij al prijs had op Pau&Barcelona.
