Nikolaas Gyselbrecht thanks everyone for the many compliments on his appearance on Belgian national television

In the past days, I received many compliments on my appearance on Belgian national television and many congratulations on the attention which many international websites and newspapers paid to our two newly established world records. I would therefore like to thank everybody who congratulated us and who contributed to our success.

Below you can find one of the many testimonials I received. It is written by Sornthep Gomutputra, the CEO of AIG Thailand.

Dear Nikolaas,

I saw your clip on national TV. You are now a national hero of Belgium and he pigeon world. You did a very good job while on air although I did not understand a word in Flemish. You looked so calm, very matured, well composed, highly confident with the radiant of a successful young executive, the like of Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gate, etc. At the rate you are going, you'll be one of them. I am proud to be a friend of yours. Congratulations to the two big stunts you pulled recently with the auctions of Verbesselt and Veenstra.

Positief dat de duivensport in de media komt,
minder tof dat het komt door de absurde bedragen die er gegeven worden aan duiven
Of het allemaal zo goed is heb ik toch mijn vragen bij
Het is nu zover gekomen dat het heel moeilijk word voor een modale melker om nog iets te kopen bij de top in de duivensport

@swakke, dit op zich vind ik niet zo ene probleem. Er zullen altijd wel goede duiven te koop zijn voor redelijke prijzen.

Wat ik een groter probleem vind is dat dergelijke hoge bedragen (Hoe leuk ook voor de verkoper Smile ) de geloofwaardigheid van de sport in twijfel trekken. As ik tegen een buitenstander spreek over onze hobby dan is steevast de eerste vraag: voor hoeveel heb jij al duiven ge- of verkocht? of hoeveel zijn uw duiven waard? laat ons eerlijk zijn, eigenlijk zijn het toch zotte bedragen voor een duif? zie bijvoorbeeld de recente verkoop waar 250.000 voor een duif werd betaald, dat is ongeveer het bedrag van een huis! Iets waar de meeste lezers 20 tot 30 jaar moeten voor werken om dit af te betalen.
