One of the most remarkable and therefore high status one loft races in the world is the Derby Arona on Tenerife. Where pigeons need to be allround, cross land and water in racing and are exposed to a great variety in extreme weather circumstances. The result; a leaden competition where only the strongest survive. Of almost 2,400 send pigeons this year 53 made it to the final race – the 31 winning pigeons & 10 acebirds are sold in this classy auction. News
