In the last few weeks it became clear that the Leo Heremans auction was about to be something special. The auction was the talk of the town among many pigeon fanciers but no one would have guessed that the auction raised 4.346,500 euro (that is 174 million Belgian Francs!). The star from Drachterscompagnie had told earlier that he was not yet ready for the new season. Strangely enough he was not really motivated to start the new season but it was his eight-year-old son Aant Arien who convinced his father to join the competition after all.

The Fuzhou Racing Pigeon Club Support Auction successfully ended on March 24, 2013. The purpose of this charity auction was to raise funds in order to help the Fuzhou Racing Pigeon Club buy a new pigeon truck.
