PiPa Trip nach China - Alle Fotos + Text online

PiPa besuchte China - Juni 2010. Nikolaas (CEO/Gründer von PiPa) Thomas Van Cauwenberghe(Verwaltungsratspräsident PiPa) und Luna Lai (zuständig für den Markt China & Taiwan PiPa) des PiPa-Team werden in den nächsten 2 Wochen in ganz China unterwegs sein. Auch der Top-Taubenzüchter Marcel Sangers aus Holland wird sich anschließen. Heute, der 6. Juni, kommen wir in Beijing an...

Beijing National Stadium, also known as the National Stadium or the Bird's Nest, is a stadium in Beijing. The stadium was designed for use throughout the 2008 Summer Olympics and Paralympics.

Luna Lai and Thomas Van Cauwenberghe, the first day of our stay in China. This year again, we are planning to visit a group of our customers in China to say hello, to have dinner with them, to talk about their experiences with PiPa, to ask them wether they were happy with the quality of pigeons offered by us. How they think we could still improve. And also the things they liked about PiPa and the service we gave. PiPa takes customer service very seriously and that's the main reason of our trip.
Mr. Shih, without any doubt the biggest pigeon collector in Taiwan of the recent years, he has also the biggest collection of original Ludo Claessens pigeons, international winners, national winners, ace pigeons, etc... He flew with our agent Luna Lai from Taiwan to Beijing together and Mr. Shih joined us for a few days in Beijing.
The restaurant where we had dinner the first evening. Dr. Guo Weicheng, alias Great Wall, invited us and we had a great night, with EXCELLENT food.
Moutai is arguably the most famous Chinese liquor. It is produced in a town called Maotai, in the Guizhou province of southwestern China. It is believed that the town of Maotai possesses a unique climate and vegetation that contributes to the taste of the drink.

A group picture. Marcel Sangers is a good friend of the PiPa-team and when he asked if he could join us once, when we visited China, we could not say no. It is great fun with Marcel, as he is a very nice, easy-going person.
Mrs. Luna Lai, the face of PiPa in China & Taiwan, considered by many as the biggest encyclopedia of pigeon knowledge in China/Taiwan.
Dr. Guo Weicheng, alias Great Wall, is one of the people I know I admire the most. Not only because his success in business, but especially the fact that this success does not affect the way he behaves. He is very down to earth and does not like to show off at all. He is one of the smartest people I have ever met and probably will ever meet. He is a surgeon by education, but now owns one of the most prestigious and biggest pharmaceutical companies in China, founded back in the early nineties.
Just like Great Wall, Mr. Shih, is a very wealthy person, that has gained a lot of success during his life in business. But Mr. Shih will never mention that and will stay friendly, polite and down to earth all the time. The first years we visited him, he even never wanted to be in the picture, because he wants to stay very low profile. Mr. Shih is the exclusive importer in China from Ricoh ( the famous brand ), of electronic parts.

Luna Lai, Adam Zhang, Marcel Sangers and Nikolaas. Adam Zhang bought 5 pigeons from Marcel Sangers in the last edition of Jewels of the Sky and is very happy with them. Afterwards he even visited Marcel recently in Europe. Adam Zhang is one of the rare people that can almost speak perfectly English in China. Adam only keeps pigeons for pleasure and does only participate in club races. He does not participate one loft races.

Tian'anmen Square is the large plaza near the center of Beijing, China, named after the Tiananmen (literally, Gate of Heavenly Peace) which sits to its north, separating it from the Forbidden City. It has great cultural significance as it was the site of several key events in Chinese history.

Mr. Liu, the big boss of Xin Yue. They own one of the biggest companies in Beijing. Their business is almost everything, they own largest part of the taxis in Beijing (over 6000), they own hotels, they own many restaurants, almost everything that has wheels in Beijing is theirs, luxury cars, coaches, etc...
Xin Yue has bought a very impressive collection of Ludo Claessens birds on the total auction of Ludo Claessens, they have bought the 1st nat ace pigeon KBDB 'Blue Jef' 2009 long distance Belgium. They have bought the KBDB 1st nat ace pigeon middle distance ace pigeon 2008-2009 KBDB, the first 2 national winners of Jos Vercammen Bourges last year, and we can go on and on to tell what they have bought and what they own.

Today, 8th of June we visit Great Wall's Golden Top One Loft Race. Great Wall organises this year his first edition and the number of pigeons entered already from China and Europe is huge. They exceed his expectations a lot. PiPa was a big support for him. As he is by far the biggest pigeon buyer in China and the biggest customer of PiPa in China, he has built up an unbelievable strong brand name. He has a great reputation and I believe his race can be a good succes.

Dr. Guo is the Executive Deputy Chairman and General Manager Sihuan Shenzen. As co-founder of the Sihuan Pharmaceuticals Group, Dr Guo has been instrumental to Sihuan’s growth and business expansion since its establishment in 2001.

Impressive gardening...The finishing of the gardening would normally be finished in 2-3 weeks time, but Great Wall, wanted to have everything ready for the visit of PiPa and he politely asked the gardening company to work even a little faster. Not everything is finished yet, but you can already have a great impression of how everything will look like.

A camerman was hired to film this day. An interview has been done with Great Wall about his experience to work with PiPa. He told us that the service is so great, the quality of pigeons is the best in the world and he feels so safe to buy from PiPa that he only buys pigeons through PiPa. There is no person in China buying more pigeons in the last 5 years than Great Wall has done, not in quantity, but in quality and value.

Mr. Zhou Jun on the right, he runs the most famous auction site in China itself, together with his pigeon photographer, also visiting Great Wall.
Mr. Shih, a very well respected business-man, and one of the main clients of PiPa in Taiwan, also visited Great Wall's One Loft Race and also participates with a group of pigeons. Almost every big buyer of PiPa in China also already sent pigeons to participate in the one loft race of Great Wall.

Golden Eye, a super performance pigeon, raced by Heyde-Desmeytere from Belgium, to be honest : A GORGEOUS PIGEON !! This pigeon already won in one year time 70,000 euro for Dr. Guo! Bought through the services of PiPa!

Last year Dr. Guo also bought the 2 best pigeons of Falco Ebben in the Netherlands, through PiPa, they won both 2/3 prizes top 10 NPO. Marcel was very impressed by the purchase of Dr. Guo.

We also had the honor to visit Huixiang Sfhenfang, more known under the name of Sissi. This is the most well-known one loft race in Beijing so far with a prize money of 2,7 mio euro. They hand out a big number of prizes, amongst them 30 honda cars, and many other prizes. We had a very warm welcome here and therefore we would like to thank Sissi and her husband very much.

When she was 18 she was one of the best students of Beijing and she won a scholarship to be able to study in Germany, she studied there for a long time and she got 2 Master Degrees and a PhD. After that she went back to Beijing and met her husband. They got married in 2008.

When new pigeons arrive, they are first 5 days in the observation room in quarantaine.

There is a project where a pigeon village will be constructed with 150 pigeon houses. They can only be bought by pigeon fanciers and there are three types, A, B and C. There is a prototype of each house, we are standing in front of the biggest prototype.

Here we arrived Tianjin. A big city not far from Beijing. Our sub-agent Zhou Jun lives here and as a tradition we visit him every year. We evaluate the past year and conclude that we have been facing an serious increase of sales again the last year. Zhou Jun is the exclusive agent of Vandenheede pigeons in China.
Tianjin is a metropolis in Northeastern China. It is governed as a direct-controlled municipality, one of four such designations, and is thus under direct administration of the central government. In terms of urban population, it is the sixth largest city of the People's Republic of China, and its urban land area ranks 5th in the nation, only after Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen.
Tianjin's urban area is located along the Hai He River, which connects to the Yellow and Yangtze Rivers via the Grand Canal in Tianjin. Its ports, some distance away, are located on the Bohai Gulf in the Pacific Ocean.

Bicycle in Tianjin. While China is known as the world's bicycle capital nowadays, this western invention was not easily integrated into the Chinese way of life. At the end of the 19th century, when bicycles were coming into fashion, China, which has suffered humiliation in one way or the other from Western powers, was not quite ready to open its arms to yet another foreign invention. The first mention of bicycles in China was in 1860.

Restaurants often keep a tank of live fish for their customers to choose from. In the big cities, top-quality restaurants boast row upon row of tanks stocked with an almost unimaginable variety of aquatic creatures.
Tianjin dining culture is renowned throughout China, and not only the traditional Tianjin snacks, but the cuisines from other regions of China can also be found.

Peking Duck, or Peking Roast Duck is a famous duck dish from Beijing that has been prepared since the imperial era, and is now considered one of China's national foods.
Arrived in Tangshan, a few hours away from Beijing. Marcel came through the air, we all with the plane :-). Our today's visit is to Mr. Xing, one of PiPa's top customers in China. Mr. Xing is a very important person in China, who is developping huge real estate projects. Once again, we have been threated like real kings.

He bought the expensive son of Limoges on PiPa Jewels of the Sky last edition at about 40.000 euro, he bought 2 sons of Kleine Dirk, child of Dromer. He bought Emma, direct daughter of Kleine Dirk in Jewels of the Sky, for about 35.000 euro.
Mr. Li, repsonsible for the breeding pigeons in the loft of Mr. Xing. He is a very loyal employee. It is also great to see how all staff is threated in a very nice way by their boss Mr. Xing, they seem to all respect him hugely, and he, from his side, threats his staff in a very gentle way.
Mr. Xing offered us a royal collection of fruits after our arrival to his loft. In his idea we should eat a lot of fruit, because he thinks our trip is very tiring and the fruit should help us to recuperate better and faster. Mr. Xing does not smoke, does not drink alcohol, lives healthy, is a family man. He really thinks : You are what you eat.
Mr. Xing is extremely satisfied with the platform PiPa provides to the pigeon world and has been a loyal buyer since he started to buy the first pigeons through PiPa.
Mr. Xing, Luna and Nikolaas. Why did Mr. Xing bought on Pipa without knowing people behind PIPA or handling the birds ? Because he did know about Pipa, the site ! And he also knew already Doctor Carlo and Luna Lai…Two well-known names in Pigeon racing in China… The good vibes around them led to trust…Knowing that people at Pipa tell the truth… It proved to be a good choice: till now, Mr. Xing is very pleased with the quality, service and time of transport.
Gaby Vandenabeele visited China once a few years ago, especially to Mr. Xing. For Mr. Xing there are 3 popular pigeon-groups on China (and by extension: the world) : De Rauw-Sablon / Koopman / Gaby Vandenabeele.

Now, I could not refuse because of the hospitality shown here. So we shaked hands on the deal of the first 2 children, sold to China, by PiPa Elite Center. The mating hen is daughter of Freddy 494-08.

Are we in heaven ? Or in paradise ? Well, indeed, you would think...A private restaurant with the best chef of town, and at least 15 servants, giving us the time of our life. You can't imagine how important we felt....! It is good to feel like a king for a short time ;-)

A 3-star Michelin restaurant ? Well, possibly ! But actually, NO, not possible, because not open to public. Can you imagine ? To have your private restaurant...??!!
On the same piece of land where the restaurant is, are also guest rooms...Well, actually guest rooms is not the right word. They were more like "SUITES THAT WE HAVE NEVER SEEN BEFORE!!!"...One of the suites was even bigger than a house where average people live in, in Belgium ! Every room was prepared by an enormous collection of fresh fruits...all kinds of drinks, flower leafs in the toilet. I was afraid to flush even...! What an experience...

In Shanghai we had the opportunity to do a quick visit to the World Expo. An amazing place where several countries present themselves in buildings made for the occasion. This is the entrance with the Chinese building in the background. Undoubtedly, the most impressive building !

Shanghai is often regarded as the center of finance and trade in mainland China. Modern development began with the economic reforms in 1992, a decade later than many of the Southern Chinese provinces, but since then Shanghai quickly overtook those provinces and maintained its role as the business center in mainland China. Shanghai also hosts the largest share market in mainland China.
Because of Shanghai's status as the cultural and economic center of East Asia for the first half of the twentieth century, it is popularly seen as the birthplace of everything considered modern in China. Also the birthplace of pigeon sport! Many years ago, when people from abroad travelled to Shanghai, they are the ones to introduce the pigeon sport here...
Today we have a meeting with the absolute number 1 pigeon racer in Shanghai, Mr. Gordon Chiu. He does not say it himself that he is the best, but we heard it from others, not only from Shanghainese, but from fanciers all over the country. Gordon is a very elegant and smart man who has been living in America for a while, studied MBA over there and speaks as a consequence of this perfect English.

Group picture. Gordon himself lives in the South-East of Shanghai, not so far from the airport. There are about 10.000 pigeon fanciers in Shanghai, and for their biggest race they have about 50,000 pigeons. Club racing is much more important in Shanghai than one loft races, because people are simply more interested in racing themselves and their general trust in One Loft Racing is not so high.
Arrived in the airport of Guilin, a city famous for its natural river and moutain scenery, which is about 1.5 hour drive to Liuzhou, a wonderful town, where Marcel lives. Liuzhou is a town in the south-west of China. Liuzhou is the second largest city in Guangxi and is the region's industrial center.
Harley and Nikolaas, it was a great moment to see each other again after one year. Harley has not changed, I like him a lot. Harley lives in Wuzhou, he drove about 3 hours to Guilin to pick us up with Marcel .
Guilin Airport provides flights to major cities in China...The yellow car you might recognise from the trip of last year. Yes it is Harley's car !!
As with much of Guangxi, the landscape around Liuzhou is a mix of rolling hills, mountain peaks, caves and karst scenery. It is an ideal base for exploring the minority villages in the area.
Liuzhou, also named the Dragon City (it is said in folklores that eight dragons appeared in the Liujiang River), is a comprehensive territorial city center and communication hinge with industry as its pillar industry as well as a historical and cultural city commanding unique sceneries. Liuzhou city consists of six counties and four districts, covering an area of 18,600 square km2. 3,625 million people of 48 ethnics live there, including Han, Zhuang, Miao, Yao, Dong and etc.

Marcel, Nikolaas, another friend and Harley. Harley and Marcel are very close friends. We have visited Harley last year in Wuzhou, now Marcel wanted to invite us in his hometown Liuzhou. Last year I gave him personally the name Marcel because he is crazy about Marcel Aelbrecht pigeons and guess what, now everybody is using the name!
Marcel especially booked a boat trip on the Liuzhou river, what an amazing boat ride. Wonderful scenery, unbelievable waterfalls, bridges. We could also watch world cup football inside the boat ;-)

On the top of the tallest building of Nanning Mr. Su reserved already one month before our visit this restaurant to make sure we had a wonderful view and a great time. Well, to be honest Mr. Su, you succeeded 200 % in what you tried to achieve. We felt at home immediately because of your hopistality and your kindness. Mr. Su told me litteraly that "HE IS ADDICTED TO PIPA" and that he really hopes on a very long term coorporation with PiPa. Now he is building new pigeon lofts of over 100 acres !

Our last stop was in Shenzhen, south of China, very close to Hong Kong. We met Mr. Xiang Jixiang ( also called Mr. Green / left ) and his friends(Mr. Lu and Mr. Li ). Shenzen is a city that developed very quickly into a metropolis in recent years.
This is Mr. Green who will visit together with Mr. Gordon Chiu Europe in June. Looking forward to see you again Green !
Shenzhen pigeon sport is relatively new, just like the city. Most people who live here are coming from other cities...for exmaple, The gentleman in yellow shirt is Mr. Chen from Manolia ..
We are received very well by the Shenzhen pigeon fanciers.

An excellent repo: The trip to China 2010!
With variety of history and great impressions of the pigeon business of course but also with panoramic pictures of huge lofts, a pigeon village, pigeons training, beautiful places(BirdsNest), enormous buildings...gorgeous pigeons and even dogs...! Very "tasty"! Very Happy
